Ribolet of Lancaster County from Bischweiler in 1733 and 1749

As it turns out, Christian did not depart directly from Bischweiler. Sometime after the birth of Cristian's brother in 1708, George and Christine Ribolet and their three children left Bischweiler for Webenheim. The records in Bischweiler found in this study mesh nicely with those at Webenheim found by Burgert in her much more extensive study of villages in the Western Palatinate. 3 Christian had a wife named Catharine, who may be the Catrina Reben on the passenger list, one of the few that names women and children, but Barthel is not named on the list. Barthol did come to Pennsylvania, where he is found by 1756 in Lehigh County. Hans Peter Ribelet came with his wife and only surviving son, Jacob, who was born in 1732, hence over 16 and required to sign the oath. Abraham came with his wife, a daughter, and two sons under 16. The Christian carried many other Bischweiler emigrants. It is unclear if this refer to the region or to a mall , north of Rei.ms, about 180 miles west of Bischweiler, near the od a other Bischweiler residents. Poulet notes that they came to Bisch after the declaration of 1661 establishing the Catholic state. 4 In early French records, this family appears both as Ribelet (an tions) and Ruby/Rubi.
