Genealogical Research in Progress So much has been published about the unproved English origin of the Wrights of Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, that in 1974-5 I caused researches among wills and certain parish registers to be undertaken by an excellent genealogical firm in Norfolk, England, said by a 1750 memorandum book (now lost?) to have been their pre-American home. Thus far, no favorable results. We are now beginning a systematic search of pre-I600 registers preserved in the Norfolk and Norwich Record Office. I'm not in a position to defray the entire financial cost of this operation, and contributions to a fund for research purposes by interested descendants of Peter and Nicholas Wright (their brother Anthony was unmarried and childless) would be welcome. Periodic progress reports will be made. Milton Rubincam, 6303 20th Avenue, West Hyattsville, Maryland 20782
