Xerox copy of original docket in collection of The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania Del/N7A. 353 354 The Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine ANDERSON—PIERCE: Peggy Pierce, a Mulatto single woman of Christiana Hundred charged Robert Anderson with being the father of her child which child was born at the house of James Pierce in the Borough of Wilmington on the 12th day Sept. 1807. BALDWIN—TREMBLE: Mary Tremble of Christiana Hundred, single woman, charges Nathaniel Baldwin with being the lather of a male child of which she was delivered on the 30th day of Nov. 1811 at the house of Joseph Tremble, the father of said Mary. BEATY—THOMPSON: On 19th Dec. 1801 John Beaty of Mill Creek Hundred is ordered to pay unto Mary Thompson of Mill Creek Hundred, single woman, for Lying in Expenses of his male child. BECKET—JOHNSON: Hannah Johnson, single yellow woman of Christiana Hundred charges William Becket, a blackman, with being the father of her female child which was born at the house of Jacob Shreve in said Hundred on the day of July 1807, BIDDLE—NICHOLSON: Elizabeth Nicholson, single woman, on the 1st day of July 1819 was delivered of a female child and on her oath charged Eli Biddle of Red Lyon Hundred with being the father of her child. BIGGS—McDANIEL: Aaron Biggs of Appoquinimink Hundred shall pay for maintenance of a male child born of Sarah McDaniel of said Hundred, single woman on the 31st day of December 1803 at the house of Thomas Clark of Appoquinimink Hundred. BUNKER—DUPHAIN: William Bunker of Pencader Hundred shall pay unto Mary Duphain of Pencader Hundred for maintenance of her male child, payment to commence 4th day Aug, 1802. BUNKER—MOORE: William Bunker of Pencader Hundred, County of New Castle, shall pay unto Rebecka Moore for the maintenance of her male child. Payment shall commence from the lOth day 1801. CALDWELL—DONAHUE: Hanna Donahue was delivered of a child on the ninth day of Sept. 1809 and Thomas Caldwell of the town of Newport, Hundred of Christiana is the father as she has sworn. CAMPBELL—TREMBLE: Samuel Campbell is charged with the maintenance of a male child born of Mary Tremble, singlewoman. Said child was April born at the house of Joseph Tremble in Christiana Hundred on the 1809 and said Samuel Campbell is adjudged the father, he not denying the fact. CRAWFORD—EATON: Mary Eaton of Whiteclay Creek Hundred, single woman, charges Eaton Crawford with being the father of her male child born at the house of Rebecca Reynolds on the lOth day of Dec. 1809. New Castle County, Delaware, Court Records 1759-1834 355 DAWSON—CULLY: Warrant issued on oath of Jane Cully against John Dawson charged with being the father of her female child born 21st June 1817. DIEHL—BROOKS: Mary Brooks of St. Georges Hundred, single woman, on the 17th May 1803 at St. Georges Hundred was delivered of a male child and that Adam Diehl of St. Georges Hundred, grazier, is the father of said child. DUFF—SHAY: Feb. 27, 1819, Edward Duff is charged with the maintenance of a child charged on him by the oath of Kitty Shay. FOARD—GRIFFIN: Elanor Griffin of Appoquinimink Hundred, singlewoman on 22nd ,Jan. 1801 saith that on the 22nd Sept. 1799 in said Township the said Elanor Griffin was delivered of a female child and that William Foard of Kent County is the father of said child. FRIEL—DENNIS: Rebbeca Dennis of the Borough of Wilmington was delivered on the 10th day Aug. 1808 of a female child and John Friel was adjudged to be the father. HAMILTON—McCONNELL: Rachel McConnell of Christiana Hundred, New Castle County, single woman, upon her solemn oath charged James Hamilton, state driver with being the lather of her child which was delivered at the house of McConnell, her father, on the 27th day of Dec. 1812. HI LTZHE1MER PHILLIP: Aug. 30, 1808, Thomas W. Hiltzheimer of the Hundred of W.C.C., gentlemen farmer, doth acknowledge to be the father of a female child born to Sarah Phillip, single woman. HUSTON—BATHER: Sarah Gather, single woman, on the 16th Dec. 1804 was delivered of a male child in Christiana Hundred and that James Huston, weaver, in said Hundred is the father of said child. KAIN: On 16th June 1809 Michael Kain is charged with the maintenance of a certain male child born of Rhoda, a singlewoman. KELLY—CAMPBELL: James Kelly of Borough of Wilmington, laborer, is charged for the maintenance of his female child born of Polly Campbell on the 6th July 1808. WILLIAMS—WASHINGTON: Samuel Jordan of the Hundred of Brandywine is charged with the maintenance of the child of Peggy Washington, a free black woman and Jeremiah Williams a black servant of said Samuel Jordan, born on the 4th day of March 1808. M'CALLA—CULLEN: Hannah Cullen of Newcastle County, single woman, on the 21st Oct. 1778 saith that on the 8th Sept. 1778 at Redlyon Hundred in Newcastle County that she the said Hannah Cullen was delivered of a female child and that James M'Calla of the said Hundred did get her with child. 356 The Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine McCARTNEY—GRIFFIN: On 4 Nov. 1816 William McCartney is charged with being the father of a child with which jemima Griffin is pregnant. McENTIRE—QUANDRILL: On 17th Oct. 1801 Thomas McEntire of Whiteclay Creek Hundred is ordered to pay unto Hannah Quandrill, single woman, of said Hundred Lying in Expenses of his female child. McFARLAND—WAGGONER: Mary Waggoner of Appoquinimink Hundred, single woman charges Alexander McFarland with being the father of her male child which was born at the house of William Waggoner on the 26th day of May 1803. McGURGAN—FOX: Francis McGurgan is charged for the maintenance of a child born to Mary Fox, single woman, on the 25th day of Nov. 1809. MORRISON—RUMSEY: It is ordered that Robert Morrison shall pay Mary Ramsey for support of the child whereof she is now pregnant. Nov. 25, 1803. MORRISON—WILTTHEWS: Mary Matthews of Christiana Hundred upon her solemn oath charges Thomas Morrison with being the father of her male child which was born at the house of John Malloy on the 15th day March 1810. The said Thomas Morrison having confessed that he is the father of said child. NEECE—ARMSTRONG: Whereas Charlotta Armstrong of Christiana Hundred, single woman, on the 14th day of Oct. 1800 charged John Neese with being the father of her male child born at the house of John Armstrong in Christiana Hundred on the 4th day of Aug. 1801. PEARCE—VANSANT: Whereas Sarah Vansant, on the 27th Nov. 1798 was delivered of a female child at the home of Samuel Freman in St. George Hundred and charges that John Pearce of Cecil County, Maryland, farmer, is the father of said child. PERREY—ROBERTS: Elizabeth Roberts of St. Georges Hundred, single woman, declared that on the 26th May 1801 she was delivered of a female child and that William Perrey is the father of said child. PHILLIPS—WOODWARD: Sarah Woodward of Christiana Hundred, singlewoman, charged James Phillips with being the father of her child. Said child was born at the house of Mary Hendrickson in Christiana Hundred on the 13th day of March 1809. PEIRSON—HAINS: Sarah }tains of Christiana Hundred, single woman, charges Jacob Peirson with being the father of her female child born at the house of John Flinn in said Hundred on the 14th day of Jan. 1806. PRI MROSE—PENNYVALE: June 5, 1819—Upon the oath of Mary Pennyvale, Reuben Primrose is charged with the maintenance of her child. New Castle county, Delaware, court Records 1759-1831 357 REYNOLDS—NUSON: Whereas Margaret Nuson of Christiana Hundred, single woman, on the 20th Oct. 1801 charged Alexander Reynolds with being the father of her male child born at the house of Robert Rowan on the 14th day of March, 1801. SENNECKS—SEVILLE: Phebe Seville on her oath charges Eli Sennecks with being the father of her child which was born on the 1st day of March 1820. SHADDOCK—GULL: A female child, born on the 19th Nov. 1800, to Prudence Gull, singlewoman of Appoquinimink Hundred and that William Shaddock of said Hundred is the father of said child. SMITH—PHILLIPS: Jacob Smith is charged with being the father of a female child of Rebbecca Phillips which was born on the 30th day June 1816. SMITH—HOLLANDS: Susannah Hollands of Newcastle Hundred on the 29th Dec. 1759 saith she is now with child and that William Smith of Wilmington, Attorney at Law is the father of said child. SPENCER—SMITH: Joel Spencer is charged with being the natural father of a female child born 22nd Sept. 1817 to Margaret Smith of Brandywine Hundred. UNDERWOOD—EVANS: Elizabeth Evans, single woman of County of New Castle, on the 21st day of June 1818 was delivered of a female child, and on her oath charged Ephraim Underwood with being the father of said child. VANCE—BARNS: Hannah Barns of St. Georges Hundred, single woman on the third day of the present month, 1802 at the house of John Cleaver in St. Georges Hundred was delivered of a male child and that William Vance of the village of Port Penn, carpenter, is the father of said child. VICARS—TAYLOR: Nancy Taylor of St. Georges Hundred, singlewoman, saith that on the 6th March 1801 she was delivered of a male child in said Hundred and that Abraham Vicars, farmer, is the father of said child. WALRAVEN—CARSON: Mary Carson upon her solemn oath charges Aquila Walraven with being the father of her male child which was delivered at the house of John Sperry in the Borough of Wilmington the 29th May 1809. WALRAVEN—BARNS: Isaac Walraven to appear before Francis CeDaniel, Justice of the Peace within one month after Sarah Barns of Christiana Hundred is delivered of a child with which she is now pregnant. Acknowledged 26th Aug. 1815.
