53 NOTICE OF SPECIAL LECTURES The Genealogical Society announces the presentation, in October 1965, of the third series of four special lectures similar to those which were offered in 1963 and 1964. The subjects to be covered will include the use and interpretation of the records of various religious denominations: births, baptisms, confirmations, communicants, church minutes, lists of vestrymen, pew holders, church founders, etc., cemetery records of interments, sexton's records, and the interpretation of cemetery inscriptions, transcribed and in situ. Dr. Don Yoder, of the Department of Religious Thought, University of Pennsylvania, has agreed to present the lectures. A new feature will be the slides Dr. Yoder proposes to show during his explanation of the historical background and development of church record-keeping. The lectures will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 2 to 4:00 p.m. during October in the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, 1300 Locust Street, Philadelphia. A charge of $15 for the four lectures, $5 for single lectures, will be made. Those interested in enrolling are invited to send their names to the Genealogical Society, 1300 Locust Street, Philadelphia, Penna., 19107. Enrollment is open to non-members as well as to members of this Society.
