Penn-Gaskell Bible Record

Penn-Gaskell Bible Record HANNAH BENNER ROACH, F.G.S.P., F.A.S.G. HE original and a photostatic copy of the following Bible record are in the Collections of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. When the original record was given to the Society ' no title page was included, but a comparison of the original sheets with other Bible records in the Society's collections which have similarly decorated borders, indicates that the pages came from The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Translated out of the Original Greek . . . which was printed in Philadelphia by Kimble and Sharpless, perhaps in 1826. This New Testament apparently belonged to Peter Penn-Gaskell, Jr. (son of Peter Penn-Gaskell and his wife Elizabeth Edwards), whose marriage to Louisa Adelaide Heath is the first entry in the record. For further data on this family the reader is referred to "The Penn-Gaskell Family" in Volume XXV (No. 2, 1967) and to "Penn-Gaskell Addenda" in Volume XXVII (No. 4, 1972) of this Magazine.
