township of Blockley”, met in a school-house at 52nd and Walnut streets, where some of them had previously been worshipping, and resolved to secure a lot, and build thereon a meeting-house, to be known as "the Baptist Church of Blockley, in the county of Philadelphia.”
On the 29th of May following, the sixteen constituent members met at the house of John Rutter, and organized a regular Baptist Church, calling Mr. Rutter as pastor.
